Hot tempered and fiercely independent, Julia finds escape in a passion for motorcycles and the high-octane world of urban 'Rodeos' -- illicit gatherings where riders show off their bikes and their latest daring stunts. After a chance meeting at a Rodeo Julia finds herself drawn into a clandestine and volatile clique and, striving to prove herself to the ultra-masculine group, she is faced with a series of escalating demands that will make or break her place in the community.

Although its individually impressive elements often struggle to cohere, Rodeo remains an easily relatable look at the struggle to find one's place.

Wendy Ide Observer (UK) While it doesn’t entirely work, the film is as fearless and in-your-face as its formidable central character. Rated: 4/5 Apr 30, 2023 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) [Julie Ledru] brings to the role the sad eyes of Jeanne Moreau, the swaggering insouciance of Béatrice Dalle and the saddle skills of Evel Knievel. The film around her, though, has frequent dramatic lapses... Rated: 3/5 Apr 27, 2023 Full Review Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) A very difficult film, but a slice of life I didn't know before. Mar 25, 2023 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) While I liked its visuals, I wasn’t completely sold by its narrative. Feb 13, 2024 Full Review Ricardo Rosado Fotogramas Quivoron's instincts are undeniable when balancing technical ferocity with a remarkable narrative heart... And both things are good, but not enough to hook you. [Full review in Spanish] Jan 26, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

Tom V Caveat- I do ride bikes. I fell in love with this movie. There are pre-existing Hollywood films I won't mention by name that I think influenced this piece, but this one is the killer, this one felt real. Haven't fallen in love with a movie in such a long time, TY film-maker 🙏 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/07/23 Full Review Alan L Best biking movie I've seen. Riding bikes is a passion, Julia is passionate but also competitive, as are all good bikers. This film is about learning to compete and becoming at least equal and wanting to be accepted by those more cool. But she is far more comfortable being an outsider.
