Rugged American adventure-travel journalist Pete McKell joins a cruise along a crocodile-infested river organized by tomboyish guide Kate Ryan. As if dealing with their fellow travelers, including obnoxious wannabe photographer Simon and bratty British teen Sherry, wasn't enough aggravation, soon Pete and Kate must match wits against an enormous 25-foot croc that seems cleverer than most.

Megan Lehmann The Hollywood Reporter 10/23/2020
A shiny production that delivers formulaic jolts rather than stomach-turning gore and depravity. Go to Full Review
Nick Schager AV Club 10/23/2020
McLean's sophomore effort proves to be a taut and often terrifying creature feature, one that censures man's foolish belief that he can have dominion over nature while delivering shrewd, scary situational suspense. Go to Full Review
Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald 11/17/2007
When it comes to the value of keeping his creepiest attractions in reserve, McLean has learnt from Spielberg and Ridley Scott. Go to Full Review

There’s considerable production value backing this beast. But it adheres to a tired when-animals-attack formula without much novelty or inspiration. Go to Full Review

Victor F Oct 24 O filme e realmente bom já e a 3 vez que assisto e realmente e muito bom 👍🏻 See more Maddie s Aug 29 It was alright - but cant stand that they killed the dog. Good stories dont need unnecessary dog death. See more Daniel N Jul 26 I'm normally a big fan of killer croc movies but this one was just incredibly painful to watch. The characters were so frustratingly stupid and made decisions that were so ridiculously dumb that I spent the whole movie yelling at the TV and wishing I could smack some sense into the morons. All topped off with a ridiculous ending. No thanks. Not doing that to myself again. See more Chris F. @ChrisDaFish Jul 12 I went into this thinking it’d just be a fun watch, but it ended up being one of my favorite creature features. The atmosphere, tension, and pacing are all spot on. For 2007, the crocodile looks incredible. A surprisingly great film—I’ll definitely be watching it again. See more C B Dec 8 Well-directed by Greg McLean, whose name I recognized from the Wolf Creek films. Certainly one of the best from the of "inexplicably and unusually large and ravenous creature devours tourists" genre of horror/thrillers. The characters make dumb decisions but, of course, that's part of the fun. See more 04/27/2024 Over 15 years old and this is still a very good direct-to-video creature feature! Thank god it isn't disposable fodder like many that exist The title refers to an animal that breaks away from its own pack and prefers to act more savage Totally didn't know Radha Mitchell, Sam Worthington, and an upcoming Mia Wasikowski were in this A tour group is just taking a nice boat ride along the waters of the outback but little do they know that a giant crocodile is hunting them All of them become the animal's prey so they are desperate to escape alive You easily love Radha Mitchell so much as she tries to keep this group together The Australian setting is so beautiful-looking, the film is amazingly shot, it looks sharp, and you feel the intense, heated atmosphere of it all The movie works great when it comes to this crocodile's presence, you feel every second of danger when it's around with its massive size and giant jaws The CGI on this thing is pretty sharp too The other addition that makes this work is that the victims you actually care about them making it out, you're not rooting for them to get eaten The tension is brilliant with director Greg McLean making a simple premise taut and tension-filled It's like 'Lake Placid' but better See more Read all reviews
