Audience Member Romeo & Juliet: A Monkey's Tale follows the story of Juliet, a particularly attractive Temple Monkey, and Romeo, scrappy scion of the disreputable Market Monkeys. Daring all the odds (and a busy highway with, at times, several cars on it), these two expressive primates meet and fall in love-in between bug-grooming, grocery-stealing, and random acts of vandalism. Romeo is delightfully bouncy, Juliet has surprisingly soulful eyes for a Macaque, and I'm pretty sure both roles were played by the same monkeys in most of the shots. A modern classic. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member A weird balance of documentary-like realism and cheap-laugh-like staged camera shots. Overall, it's not a total waste of 45 minutes, but it's only worth watching on a whim. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews
