maychen J Fun mockumentary! If you like awkward The Office-style humor you'll like this. I'm shocked it doesn't have a higher rating! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/29/23 Full Review Audience Member This is difficult to quantify as is this a documentary or is it a film. Once you get over the shock of the subject it has a wicked sense of humor. I think it is the type of movie that you do not want to be seen watching and you would probably never want to admit that you have watched it. It even made me uncomfortable watching it alone as I started to feel purvey, watching with others and maybe a hotel room would be needed. After about 20 minutes it just became hilarious which is very odd feeling to have considering the subject matter, maybe which is the intent, so a free copy to all police stations everywhere. Nibbles: Black Beans and Rice. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Surprisingly, a lot of laughs, however the story is weak and broken and the mockumentary style doesn't quite work. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member Very odd faux documentary style comedy. Not bad. Strangely, I think this could be a great TV series. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I look at the title and the cover photo and ask myself why I didn't see this four years ago. Well, it's really low-budget. I don't even know how I ran across it though I suspect it popped up on netflix after someone borrowed my account. That said, though it's really low budget and shot with a hand-held, it's pretty damn funny. It has few reviews, but the main review on imdb is, for once, spot on. He says it's hilarious, but almost accidentally. You really don't see them pulling the strings to make you laugh, but there you are, laughing. A very dry sense of humor. That reviewer also says the female lead and gf of the nameless sex offender is destined for the cover of Maxim. It's Kristen Tucker, and she's been in basically nothing, but she is indeed gorgeous. A great, if not completely misleading, cover girl for the movie. I thought the movie was about her, not a guy who accidentally became a sex offender. So, most people definitely would not like this. The production quality is not there. It's a horrible topic (and even the filmmaker seemed to go soft on this, eventually revealing a non-threatening story). But if you watch weird shit, you might like this. It is funny enough to finish.- Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member From the director of Harmony and Me, but this one is much sillier and absurd. Usually mockumentaries have too much ad-libbing and everything becomes a comedy routine, but there's a really nice balance here that makes everything feel incredibly natural. I highly recommend Mr. Byington's movies, they are available on Netflix instant streaming. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/28/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
