Deborah Ross The Spectator The film has no psychological depth beyond offering up the occasional cliché - one of the shooters was bullied at school, for instance. Feb 12, 2021 Full Review Jessica Kiang The Playlist So somebody somewhere one day had a thought: "What if 'Die Hard' except a school shooting?" and not only didn't they immediately check themselves for other symptoms of lead poisoning but thought, "Yep, that's a winner." Rated: 1/5 Sep 11, 2020 Full Review Daryl MacDonald InSession Film Ritten has made a tone-deaf movie using one of the worst epidemics in American history as the backdrop. Rated: F Apr 26, 2024 Full Review Tyler Smith Battleship Pretension ... a fine movie that is completely undercut by its director’s attempt to bring together two tones that, it would seem, simply cannot work. Jul 6, 2022 Full Review Alistair Lawrence Common Sense Media Amid its confused pronouncements about vengeance and personal responsibility, the worst thing you can say about it is that eventually it's no longer shocking, just boring. Heather E I thought this movie would have more to say. Instead it is wildly unrealistic. For example, there are no adults in a cafeteria full of students and no one communicates to the other parts of the building that there is an active shooter situation. As a teacher who goes through trainings for these situations regularly, I can also tell you that there are several things that don't match the data on school shooters nor the protocols of schools in response to these situations. Shooters almost always act alone. Classes are not instructed to be sitting ducks. Anyone can get on the intercom and communicate vital information. I feel the adults in this situation were made a mockery of. I don't get the choice to make this narrative about one girl's personal growth as the events unfold when we all know she'd walk out of this experience with a lot to work through. In reality, in an event that lasted that long, there would be multiple "heros." Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/17/24 Full Review Matt V Don’t listen to the critics. They clearly hate Daily Wire. The writers did a fantastic job telling this story. It was emotional, thrilling and honestly just an overall great film. My heart goes out to the families that have gone through these tragedies but this is a story that needed to be told. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Ty S The critics are clearly haters of the production company. This is a very original and emotional movie. Wish I would have watched it sooner. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/12/24 Full Review Bob B I enjoyed this movie. Ignore the “experts” Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/09/24 Full Review Edoardo D Run Hide Fight attempts to blend high-stakes action with a psychological thriller’s intensity, but it falls short due to an overreliance on clichés and a lack of authenticity. The story centers on Zoe, a high school student caught in a deadly school shooting, who ultimately decides to fight back against the attackers. While the premise holds potential for suspense and a gripping narrative, the execution feels uninspired and occasionally tone-deaf. Zoe, portrayed as a petite, resilient teen, often borders on the superhuman, coming off less like a relatable protagonist and more like a version of Wonder Woman dropped into a high school drama. Her ability to face trained, ruthless attackers almost single-handedly feels implausible, especially given her physical stature and the lack of realistic preparation. This makes the film’s attempt at empowerment feel forced, losing its impact by making her journey feel more like fantasy than grounded drama. The pacing also drags, with too much focus on Zoe’s conversations with her deceased mother, intended as moments of introspection and guidance. Rather than adding emotional depth, these scenes end up feeling contrived and melodramatic, detracting from the main story. The mother-daughter conversations, while possibly meant to show Zoe’s struggle with grief, come across as awkward and over-sentimental. Ultimately, Run Hide Fight feels like a mix of high-school action clichés and psychological thriller tropes that fails to create a compelling narrative or realistic character arcs. The film misses an opportunity to tell a sensitive story with impact, instead presenting a shallow action thriller that lacks the realism, nuance, and pacing needed to resonate fully with audiences. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/04/24 Full Review Zach C The so called “experts” are review bombing it for obvious reasons. Trust the audience. Good pacing throughout, solid acting, and keeps your interest throughout. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Read all reviews
