Audience Member If Tommy Wiseau had directed a heist movie, it would be like this. Terrible but also mandatory viewing. Rated 1/5 Stars •  Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member Watching this film you might start thinking... these guys had no idea what they were doing. Stuff is all over the place. The story doesn't flow. The music isn't well done. The dialogue/acting is so poorly written and delivered. And even though it's a low budget film, clearly the talent was about as abundant as the money. BUT then you start to notice certain things. Things that might have seemed out of place at first, Amateur in their delivery, start to make sense. You start realising that scenes that seemed stupid were quite intentional in their delivery. Then it hits you! This film has a large amount of surreal aspects to it. Now you can't make up your mind as to what is deliberate to bewilder the audience and what's just simply a lack of skill. Runaway Nightmare is part horror, thriller, action, surreal, black comedy, and it even hints at wanting to be a skin flick. Had it not been for Mr. Cartel's wife/girlfriend at the time, I have a feeling this film might have had a lot of nudity instead of simply suggested nudity. It's so clear that the film wants nekked to shine forth that when distributor All Seasons Entertainment released the film on VHS, it shot a few extra pieces of nudity to fit into the film. Had the film gone the nudity route from the get go, it might have more entertainment value. As it is, unless you're into the surreal (think David Lynch) Runaway Nightmare likely isn't going to be your cup of tea.
