Audience Member LOL, the greatest documentary not rated but approved and allowed for all ages!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Funny, original, and featuring the greatest unscripted moments ever (and a narration). Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member I may be biased as a fan of Stanley Kubrick. However, this unique perspective on arguably one of the greatest directors of all time is a bittersweet trip down memory lane for a simple Italian man, Emilio, who was Kubrick's personal assistant and confidante for 30 glorious years. The behind-the-scenes perspective adds a rare component to understating the mind of a reclusive Kubrick, who shunned the Hollywood community to create works of cinematic art on his own terms with epic proportions. I enjoyed watching this film twice, and found myself laughing aloud at several scenes, for Emilio's honest, straightforward and natural perspective on several events in the production of many historic films. Kubrick was an enigma. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Mildly compelling true accounts from the former personal driver of the great director, Stanley Kubrick. Not much insight here on his films, though - with, really, he most interesting parts being the mass of memorabilia collected by the subject during his years with Kubrick. **1/2 out of 5* Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member The film begins with a slow pace but then it seduces you. A gut good bon documentary. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Bilge Ebiri Village Voice It's a subtle but important strength of S Is for Stanley that D'Alessandro's reminiscences reflect on both the bad and the good; the movie is neither hagiography nor expos. Jan 31, 2017 Full Review Glenn Kenny New York Times For Kubrick enthusiasts, this picture will provide a fun and sometimes moving fix. Jan 26, 2017 Full Review Richard James Havis South China Morning Post Kubrick fans will find his stories of interest, and others will find D'Alessandro's nostalgic remembrances touching. Rated: 3/5 Dec 4, 2017 Full Review Roger Moore Movie Nation A dull and guarded interview subject, a flatly-made film, but the portrait in memos of OCD filmmaker Stanley Kubrick is fascinating. Rated: 2.5/4 Jul 5, 2017 Full Review Daniel Eagan Film Journal International Manages the difficult feat of circling around both of its subjects without saying much interesting about either of them.
