Sacrifice, while far from a waste of time, just isn't interesting enough to bother with, the only mystery being why anyone thought it was strong enough to garner a theatrical release in the first place.

A rare female role as smart and fearless for an actress, in this feminist investigative thriller. Not to mention buried metaphorical truths in folklore about the plight of women, in this case historical male envy and ensuing domination over female bodies.

Racconto a cui è difficile trovare un'anima. La regia cerca di avvicinarsi all'horror, al thriller e al giallo poliziesco senza mai affrontare con la dovuta precisione nessuno dei tre generi. I personaggi, ad eccezione della protagonista, sono poco sensati e senza una spiegazione ai loro comportamenti. Nel finale qualche colpo a sorpresa degno di nota c'è, ma nel complesso la scelta di portare la contesa sui riti antichi non funziona e non trasmette la dovuta ansia e passione che ci si aspetta in un film del genere.
