Audience Member Beautifully uncanny cinematic experience, something of a sequel to Helpless, this is a film you can fall into, with characteristically flawless performance from Asano. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member OMG... except those stupid half-and-half Japanese porno kind of movies, this one is one of the worse even though it's a love story movie. They shouldn't call Sad Vacation, should be Very Very Bored Vacation since it's sooo boring and sooo long... I almost fell asleep when I was watching it and yeah, the worse love story so far from Japanese movie. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member you know i was going to give this movie 4 stars. and then that fuckin' bubble popped. watch the movie you'll know what I mean. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member heavy, upsad, with good actors and actresses Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member i dont reli get the message behind the movie and its kinda slow.. =.= plus i dont understand why Joe Odagiri is called the main character in the poster, while he appeared so less T.T Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Jay Weissberg Variety Only those already won over by recent Shinji Aoyama will coddle to Sad Vacation, the prolific helmer's latest overlong, confused meditation on family and abandonment. Jul 9, 2008 Full Review Keith Uhlich UGO There's something willfully obscurantist about Sad Vacation, as if it is, first and foremost, a private joke between writer/director Shinji Aoyama and his performers. Jul 9, 2008 Full Review Dan Sallitt Senses of Cinema An almost Capraesque folksy moralism takes root, but the ramshackle story keeps shifting gears awkwardly.
