matthew r Based on a true story this emotional albeit somewhat sappy movie touched on what many, including yours truly, find a important issue in society today, the homelessness problem. Movie never really got that deep yet it did delve into how society looks at homelessness which still is a contentious issue. Greg Kinnear plays his stereotype character and does well in his swim lane. Renee Zellweger attempts to step out of her goofy roles to play a somewhat serious character and holds her own but doesn't stand out. Djimon Hounsou does better than average as Denver, his voice and cadence seems spot on. One could argue that there is a feeling of racism and typical black stereotype that maybe the movie could have done without, however not knowing the real Denver, it could have just been an accurate representation of the real person. I was worried it would get too preachy as most Pure Flix movies tend to be but this one touched on God and religion but skipped through it like a rock on a pond. Worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member I thought it was one of the best movies I have seen ina long time!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member This is a beautiful, uplifting, encouraging movie. It has made me want to reach out to others with more love and time and a listening ear. I don't understand why some reviewers are so cynical. There IS beauty in this world, and there IS kindness in this world. There ARE people of all races who reach out their hands to others of other colors and become friends. Watch this movie with an open heart and mind, and it will touch you. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Simply, a lovely film. Well acted, well scripted. Touching. Sad. Wonderful. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member I loved it! I thought the story was very uplifting, except for the ending. Of course, it was a true story so it had to share that. The acting was terrific. The scenery was beautiful. The music was fitting. Everyone should see this movie. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the most authentic and heartwarming movies I have seen in some time. If you want the world to feel more beautiful watch it! Rex Reed Observer It's so sincere and admirable that it seems churlish to voice objections, but the fact remains that it isn't very good.
