Following the death of his mother, Tyler (Michael Vartan) wants nothing more than to start over, away from his violent father (Marshall Bell), snarling uncle (Denis Leary) and violent stepbrothers (John Hawkes, Rodney Eastman). Moving to an idyllic beach house, he befriends the charming Jack (Norman Reedus) and strikes up a relationship with Jack's sister, Sandy (Kari Wuhrer). But soon his family is back in Tyler's life, and a showdown between his past and present looms.
