Synopsis
Having emerged as an influential and charismatic leader in the Constitutionalist War in Nicaragua, Augusto César Sandino (Joaquim de Almeida) repositions himself as an anti-U.S. guerilla fighter after the United States invades. Seeing the tremendous power Sandino wields in his home country, American journalist Tom Holte (Kris Kristofferson) decides to follow Sandino's campaign, to discover the man behind the cult of personality. Meanwhile, Sandino continues to fight for U.S. withdrawal.
