What to Know

Critics Consensus

Led by a franchise-best performance from Tobin Bell, Saw X reinvigorates the series with an installment that has a surprising amount of heart to go with all the gore.

Audience Says

Adding dimension to the franchise's main characters while still leaving plenty of room for the gruesomely graphic horror these movies are known for, Saw X might be the best sequel in the series so far.

X frames Kramer like a tragic hero instead of a complete maniac with a thing for Rube Goldberg homicide, and swears by the wobbly moral mechanism he believes will balance his soul’s ledger. Go to Full Review

[Previous reboots] both failed to grasp Kramer’s star power. Saw X does not make that mistake, leading to one of the franchise’s strongest installments since the original, mostly because it gives Jigsaw center stage. Go to Full Review

[Tobin Bell's] half-cracked grandeur, boosted by [Shawnee] Smith’s skewed stares of adoration, sends the movie into a loopy giddiness. Saw X may not be the best one to start off with, but it’s hard to imagine a better one to end with. Go to Full Review

Overall I did enjoy this movie, it had me squirming in my seat and kept me engaged for most of the film. Do I think this is a groundbreaking masterpiece? no , in my opinion it is the best saw movie since the first one. Go to Full Review

The blinding flashes from fluorescent lighting and MRI machines, the ominous buzzes and thuds of medical equipment. Like all great medical dramas, you can practically smell the antiseptic ER room odors through your screen. Go to Full Review

I decided to give it another chance as I've seen them all, and i was pleasantly surprised that I really liked this installment. Stronger storyline, with your standard saw stuff but nit overall done like usual.
