08/07/2017 A big letdown after the amazing "Symbol". It was unfunny and way too slow but the interesting setup and creative storytelling made up for some of the problems. I feel enhanced for having seen it, but couldn't tell you why really. See more 01/30/2015 I saw this at a screening in Los Angeles, and it blew me away. The pathos of a Chaplin film, and the comedy of a true absurdist. It's touching, sweet, and sad. Really a masterpiece that should be more available to potential audiences. But the only place it's being sold is in Germany on DVD with German subtitles. That's it. If you can track it down, I highly recommend you do so. See more 12/18/2014 Um samurai perdeu a coragem e acabou sendo sentenciado a cometer suicídio. Em 30 dias ele terá a oportunidade de tentar fazer o filho do imperador sorrir. Se conseguir, é liberado da pena. A tarefa se mostra extremamente difícil já que o pobre samurai não tem ideias e o garoto é traumatizado pela morte da mãe. As primeiras performances são terríveis, mas aos poucos vai melhorando. O filme constrói expectativas com maestria. Trata-se de um comentário profundo sobre o entretenimento vindo de um diretor que começou a carreira como humorista de televisão.
