Dick Lochte Los Angeles Free Press Not only is Captain Peg a delight to watch, but his ersatz severed leg is an absolute miracle of cinema magic that must have rivaled the Inquisition as a torture device for the actor's real limb. Dec 31, 2019 Full Review Tony Mastroianni Cleveland Press It is a general lackluster look, a slowness of development, an attempt at a more complicated plot that causes the story to flounder. Audience Member Strange but extremely watchable western re-imagining of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. Scripted by Douglas' wife and starring directed by Kirk Douglas. This was one of two directorial efforts by Douglas. The plot is a bit uneven at times but it's got plenty of entertainment value to make up for it. Should be on DVD and / or Blu-Ray. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Needs to be seen to be believed. A western, musical version of Treasure Island, shot in Yugoslavia, directed by Kirk Douglas, who also mugs it up as the Long John Silver figure. Truly bizarre!
