Audience Member Jessica Barden's decent performance can't distract audiences out of its contrived plots and an empty ending. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Film effectively gives parallel tracks to teacher-student/older-younger illicit relationships as if to dare viewers to self-examine any differences in attitudes depending upon the couple. All four actors are capable enough to be effective and at times moving Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting premise and creative filmmaking saddled down by a number of un-engaging scenes. Tim Cogshell FilmWeek (KPCC - NPR Los Angeles) Really good with very sharp writing. Sep 16, 2019 Full Review Kimber Myers Los Angeles Times "Scaborough" doesn't try to shock audiences, but its attempt at a surprise is sadly predictable. Sep 13, 2019 Full Review Wendy Ide Observer (UK) [A] queasily atmospheric drama... Rated: 3/5 Sep 8, 2019 Full Review Katie Hogan VultureHound Thanks to the unusually picturesque yet bleak Scarborough seaside town, a very unromantic tone is thankfully set, making it easier to watch these two couples 'break the rules'. Rated: 3/5 Jan 29, 2020 Full Review Joel Fisher Battle Royale With Cheese Scarborough plays at a distance to its audience, making them feel like observers rather than getting them involved and so the end result feels somewhat empty. Oct 1, 2019 Full Review Rich Cline Shadows on the Wall This is a powerful exploration of the nature of love and relationships, most notably the way we know for sure that we're drawn to someone, even if it might not be a good idea Rated: 4/5 Sep 9, 2019 Full Review Read all reviews
