... Maintains a consistent tone and aesthetic. Sadly, that aesthetic is a dreary muted look, populated with wooden performances and stilted deliveries. Go to Full Review

Bisquiteen T Dec 28 I like the frame story. However, this definitely suffered from putting a really weak story with really weak acting as its first. I certainly thought of turning it off. I decided to hang in there until the second story, but I'm sure there are viewers who would be fed up enough with the incompetence of the storytelling and performing to turn it off before that. It's not the '80s, Satan isn't scary or even interesting at this point. You're telling me a movie from four years ago based its idea of what's horror on a children's understanding of "evil"? It's just really boring. Story 3, same issue. More tension, but same boring storyline. Better, but not really. The 2nd story/acting is much stronger than 1 or 3, and the 4th is decent enough, so 1<3<4<2. It's a payoff thing for watching it all, but what a dumb way to structure it because I was ready to turn it off on the first (the weakest) part and frankly unnecessary for the anthology. Should really just be story 2 made into a full movie. See more Jason W Apr 14 This is a really fun and different anthology. Definitely worth watching. See more Read all reviews
