Russia is on the brink of revolution, and nobleman Nikita Krasnoff (Douglas Fairbanks Jr.) realizes that he must escape to Turkey. He brings his adoring servant, Tanyusha (Nancy Carroll), with him, and it's not long before the pair of runaways fall in love and get married. However, trouble brews when Nikita's former lover, Vera (Lilyan Tashman), enters the picture. Vera has concocted a plan to travel to Paris with Nikita and replace Tanyusha in his heart.
