Peter Sobczynski RogerEbert.com Watching [Carano] is fun for a little bit, but seeing her talents thoroughly wasted becomes more depressing than anything else. Rated: 1.5/4 Feb 2, 2018 Full Review Joe Leydon Variety "Scorched Earth" is the sort of divertingly hokey post-apocalyptic B-movie that would have amused undiscriminating Blockbuster Video renters a generation ago, and now might pass muster as the pilot for a weekly SyFy series. Feb 2, 2018 Full Review Michael Rechtshaffen Los Angeles Times A decent premise - and a game Gina Carano - get left in the dust kicked up by "Scorched Earth," a dull, draggy post-apocalyptic western set in the not-too-distant, environmentally toxic future. Feb 1, 2018 Full Review Brent McKnight The Last Thing I See Gina Carano wielding a crossbow in a low-budget DTV post-apocalyptic joint. That's all you need to know. Rated: C Jul 1, 2020 Full Review Bobby LePire Film Threat Bolstered by a strong lead performance from Carano, great action set pieces, and impressive world-building, this is one action-thriller that delivers on both of those fronts. May 21, 2018 Full Review MaryAnn Johanson Flick Filosopher Gina Carano roams a mild yet tedious postapocalyptic wasteland as a bounty hunter, and either you are here for this lady badass of our feminazi dreams, or you are not. victor o I'm a big fan of Gina Carano and wanted to check this out solely for her. However, this is direct to video fare and all things considered expected disappointment. I got to admit, I was not disappointed, even with a few blemishes. The earth has become an apocalyptic wasteland and the society has reverted to a lifestyle similar to the Wild West with bounty hunters, and small towns run under ruthless criminals ruling the people like the old cattle and railroad barons of old. Only in this case, it's over much more necessary resources such as medicine and clean water. Gina Carano plays a bounty hunter who must hunt down a ruthless criminal, but things become interesting when she takes on the identity of a captured criminal to catch criminal. With a select group of allies and resources at her disposal, she does what she can with plenty of action. This was pretty good, not as grand but better than I expected. I love Gina Carano and would love to see her do more stuff. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Pretty standard fare for a low-budget action flick. Some of the direction doesn't make much sense. Action scenes were good. Acting was passable. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Learned that silver could be used for filtering air in post-apocalyptic times. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Audience Member very good story line action packed and exciting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Scorched earth has a few good ideas and Gina is likable but it’s another low budget action movie that’s incredibly forgettable. The acting isn’t very good and nothing here that is memorable beyond a day. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/20 Full Review Audience Member A great dystopian story, would be happy to watch again and can recommend. Gina Carano is fantastic in this, it really makes me want to see her get some opportunities for lead role, now that she has Deadpool fame. There is a slew of quality actors in this, but, in fairness, they're more top of TV than big movie actors. Regardless, everyone involved did a great job writing, directing, shots, acting all seem on point. They could have used a little more budget on a couple of things, but if you want a decent action flick that doesn't have The Rock in it, I'm going to point you here for the foreseeable future.
