Kevin Maher Times (UK) There's some good material here, about the importance of the cask and the peat that smokes the barley. But the film ultimately has nothing significant to say about this $6 billion global industry. Rated: 2/5 Mar 13, 2019 Full Review Tara Brady Irish Times A perfectly solid primer for a budding whisky novice hoping to progress to overbearing whisky bore. Fans of scenery might also appreciate a gander. Rated: 3/5 Mar 8, 2019 Full Review Leslie Felperin Guardian Over the long haul, it's all enough to drive you to hit the gin bottle. Rated: 2/5 Mar 8, 2019 Full Review John Serba Decider Feels like a promotional tool for Bruichladdich that has no reason to be a full-length feature. Oct 14, 2020 Full Review James Croot Stuff.co.nz Throw in some handy consumer advice along the lines of "whisky age isn't everything" and, like the alcohol itself, there's something for everyone in this documentary. Rated: 3.5/5 Jun 19, 2019 Full Review Matt Glasby Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) A Golden Dream may sometimes feel like a promo film, or a very, very good DVD extra, but it really knows its audience. Audience Member I’m a scotch aficionado myself, so seeing some of the best to do it was a real treat. I wish they would have talked about more of the distillation process instead of the extensive interviewing. That was my favorite part of touring some of the distilleries. Worth a watch if you’re a scotch lover Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/28/20 Full Review Audience Member Clever, interesting and engaging. And if you are a scotch aficionado, a dream. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review William L An interesting introduction to the industry that leaves the viewer wanting a bit more depth. (3/5) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/20/20 Full Review Audience Member Great job at blending some basics to the distilling process, with history and fresh elements of the whisky industry. Any whisky doc that can make you feel poetic and romantic about experiences with whisky is worth the watch. This is atop the list. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Dry to involved...excellent for any drinker of brown spirits...
