An interesting if minor footnote in the history of both the Bosnian war and heavy metal. Go to Full Review

Though the concert was the catalyst for the film, it provides a portal into a broader and even more compelling story. Go to Full Review

There is a uniquely fascinating story here, told through a significantly creative lens, unique to those who had lived and created during the Bosnian War. Go to Full Review

It's a story that emphasises the sudden shocking reality of war ("the normal life you had was gone," recalls one local), and the value of recognition and respite. Go to Full Review

armin p 12/16/2023 Power of music and human story in hell off destruction and war...Perfect! See more 11/11/2022 An absolutely compelling film that conveys the horrors of the Bosnian War and, within it, the determination to keep artistic expression alive and to live life to the fullest. It chronicles the before, during and after of Bruce Dickinson's 1994 concert at war-torn Sarajevo and, with excellent editing, a perfect selection of Bruce's songs, great talking heads and modern-day footage of the band visiting Sarajevo and reuniting with key people from that time, balances deftly between the main subject and its overarching themes, and offers an authentic, life-affirming, deeply moving account of a harrowing period, an incredible evening and of lives forever changed. See more 10/20/2019 Fabulous account of what was going on when we weren't paying attention in the US. Sad true but hopegul See more 10/05/2018 Fascinating documentary about Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson performing in war-ridden Sarajevo at the height of the 1990s siege. Both musicians and audience look back on those days and what this gig meant to everyone involved. While there is only little footage left of the actual concert, the war scenes from back then are nothing for the faint-hearted, Everyone involved coming back together 20 years later makes for a deeply satisfying and touching finale. See more 05/17/2018 Truly phenomenal movie with a great message. Even without Bruce Dickinson’s participation this would’ve been a great movie. Very sad and touching.
