Audience Member An interesting take on King Lear. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member okay movie...can watch once Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting movie with a fairly well story plot about two individuals (once lovers) realize that love is still there when they meet, despite a fiancé and a thriving musical career. Great cast- Parminder Nagra, Christopher Simpson, Danny Dyer, Om Puri, Anupam Kher, Roshan Seth, Nitin C. Ganatra, and Shelley Conn. Great composition by Nitin Sawhney. Worth seeing! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Acting - There are a few bright spots in this. Parminder Nagra is her usual effective self but I found a real lack of chemistry here. It was like watching an over-ambitious college play. (1/2) Directing - The first part of this two-part movie is solid. Excellent. The second part is like a complete 180. Boring, uninteresting and unengaging. (1/2) Writing - Think King Lear with an Indian twist. That's what the Netflix cover said on the return sleeve. I guess I can see that. But I don't remember King Lear having a really lame seond half. Not only that, but King Lear had wayyyy better dialogue. (0/2) Cinematography - When the camera isn't shooting some freaky hallucination sequence, it's pretty run of the mill stuff. (0/2) Entertainment Value - This is getting redundant. First half good, second half boring. (1/2) Overall - 4/10 aka :fresh: :fresh: :rotten: :rotten: TRIVIA - Parminder Nagra stars on E.R. as Dr. Rasgotra. (Yea, pretty lame, but there's not much trivia about this flick) - Parminder Nagra, who is a complete freak in the first half of this two parter. And not only that, but reptitive cursing by Nagra. Good stuff. - Blurry direction, flashbacks, poor dialogue and some iffy acting don't kill it but they do take a lot away.
