MaryAnn Johanson Flick Filosopher [O]ne of those awful cautionary tales for women that should appall me, as a feminist... But it's so wonderfully, cheesily melodramatic, and [David] Tennant is so deliciously disgusting that I love it anyway. Christian M Spoiler at end: The main character of Miranda is totally unrealistic; she's an ineffectual twit for most of it. For example, she never says a thing to her friends and family about any of the many creepy things the villain guy has said and done, things that any normal person would immediately reveal to those close to them. She doesn't even change her door locks? I mean come on . . . absurd Then suddenly in cahoots with the villains now wife -- who she's never met before -- she becomes a brilliant, conniving framer of him for murder. From 15 minutes into the first episode, when Miranda discovers the creep in her apartment unexpectedly, and he's been reading her diary, the series falls apart, never recovers, and remains silly to the very end... Massive skip. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/21/25 Full Review Kalissa H David Tennant is great as the villain. Had plenty of plot twists. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/12/25 Full Review lu n It was frustrating. David Tenant had no subtlety. He played the creep right from the get-go, which made it so silly that Miranda let him date her sister. Nobody would allow someone they love to date a dangerous man no matter now much they want to spare her feelings. In fact, everyone was pretty stupid. But once I resigned myself to a bunch of eye-rolling and laughing out loud to keep from screaming at the TV, I decided to wait for the inevitable comeuppance. The comeuppance was ok. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/08/25 Full Review Audience Member One of my favourite films. Creepy, well written, superbly acted. An understated masterpiece. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Overall very thrilling and scary, however as the movie went on, the main character seemed to become more and more stupid, and then all of sudden she gets smart? Yeah, this movie pushed my suspension of disbelief somewhat. But David Tennant is fantastic in it. Extremely awful and terrifying character. The worst of the worst.
