David Cornelius DVDTalk.com I'd call it a rip-off, but that would be insulting to rip-offs. Rated: 1/5 Jan 21, 2010 Full Review Read all reviews

jesse o Not bad but, again, and this has been a common theme for almost every Korean film I've seen recently, it simply didn't do much for me. It has some funny moments but it's not exactly hilarious from beginning to end. And there's something cool about the idea of this loser, mostly through coincidences and being unlucky and not actually his own choosing, becomes the big tough guy that everyone's afraid of and then he starts abusing that "power" against people who are losers, like he was, until he realizes the error of his ways. This is a good idea...IF it takes place over the entire school year. All of the events that take place in this movie happen in an 8 hour time-span, or the entire school day. Not even a full day, it took just one third of that for all for this to happen. I know it's a comedy that doesn't require much thinking but it's hard for me to believe that ALL this shit happened in just one school day. He went from being a loser, to being a tough guy nobody wanted to fuck with, to realizing that he didn't want to become the bullies that he hated ALL in an 8 hour span. Impossible for me to believe, and that's not even taking into account other aspects of the film that had nothing to do with the main character's 'progression'. It also gets unnecessarily serious in the last 20 minutes or so. I suppose it makes sense considering that bullying is something to take very seriously, but the movie until that point had been very silly and quirky. It simply did not fit with the rest of the movie and, again, wasn't really necessary. I suppose the cast is decent, but how much do they really add to a movie that doesn't have much going for it anyway? They're just there quite frankly. Didn't add much but didn't take away either. So yea, not a big fan of this movie. Apparently this film was inspired by an 80s movie called Three O'Clock High, so I'm hoping that movie is much better than this one, not that I have any desire to see it, but I hope it's better.
