Audience Member This is a good movie to watch through once and will easily hold your attention throughout. The younger brother I think has some very powerful moments in this and he acted those scenes well. I felt an emotional pull during the Jail visit scenes. Parts of this story are very emotionally compelling and Jai courtney and the brother do well. I would say there is slight lull in the film when they are in Iraq and also the ending is somewhat underwhelming. A very good attempt but I wouldn't watch this again despite enjoying it first time round. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Thought provoking on so many levels. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member I am stunned into silence by how deeply this movie touched me. My hope is that our leadership is watching and changing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member An interesting commentary on the "war on terrorism" from the perspective of a conservative, religious... gay... marine. I think the most intriguing thing is how sincere this is. That said, I find his sincerity strangely disconcerting... Also, I kind of like that he doesn't make his sexuality the central focus of the film. I mean yeah, its one of the main themes because its part of who he is ... but it doesn't overpower the rest of his story. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Simple story of a soldier. Reminds me why I wanted to go to the Naval Academy! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I initially recorded this with the expectation of seeing a simple story about a gay soldier having to hide his true self during war. I was expecting his homosexuality to be the center of the story. What I got was a pleasant surprise. Despite the fact that it gets off to a slow start, it really pulls you in, and will have you seeing the war in Iraq in a whole different light. This is a film that every American, liberal or conservative, should see. To simply describe it as a "soldier story" does not do it justice. By the end of it, you almost forget the fact that he is gay and forget the fact that he is a soldier, but you see him simply as a remarkable person, who everyone should strive to be more like. A DEFINITE MUST-SEE! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
