12/08/2012 Nice remake of G.I. Samurai See more 02/12/2011 "Sengoku Jieitai: 1549" Was Just as good as the original "Sengoku Jieitai". They changed the story enough so that it was less of a remake and more of a re-imagining. In this version TWO sets of Troops travel back in time. The first is pretty much the group from the original movie with a bunch of name changes, I.E. Lt. Iba Becomes Col. Matoba etc... Unlike the original, Matoba Actually succeeds in taking over ancient Japan. However, when the changes in history start to alter modern day Japan, a second unit travels back to Bring back, or neutralize the first. Pretty good film, and it lives up to the original.
