Derek M An unexpected and unbiased look into the illiteracy epidemic in our country. This documentary is both inspiring and heartbreaking, with firsthand interviews of families from L.A. to the Bronx, and the hills of North Carolina. It wasn't the easiest material to watch, but its raw and often painful truths are necessary in order to shock viewers into focusing on the real problems across our nation. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/25/24 Full Review David A Powerful storytelling and revealing nature of illiteracy across our country, whether in rural or urban communities. Very glad to see that the filmmakers don’t hold back on what poverty looks like in the US, and that illiteracy is not just constrained to any one demographic, but endemic across all races and states. Super impressed with the solutions proposed — any of us who can read can help teach a kid to read. Great movie Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/19/24 Full Review Read all reviews
