Bernadette B The quintessential movie for anyone teaching morality and ethics. Although it was a black and white, 1957 movie, my students loved it. Even though they were stuck in one setting the whole movie, they easily made it entertaining and exciting to watch. The acting was absolutely amazing and of course Tyrone Power stunned the audience with another great performance! This is a must see for all generations to come! "Abandon Ship!" Rated 4/5 Stars •  Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member TP becomes captain when the old Cap dies, and he is set on getting as many people alive to the coast of Africa as he possibly can. However, there are 26 people 1 dog and the small raft is built for 9 w/food and water. TP knows that he has to shave off the dead wood when a storm comes and it is apparent that the weight of the passengers is making it sure that perhaps none of them will survive. So he elects to survive, by picking who will live and who will be cast out of the boat. How long do they have until So Africa? TP is excellent, some of his best work in this movie, and it is hard to believe that he died the next year of a heart attack....... will not spoil the ending!
