Steve D I didn't find it at all effective. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/08/24 Full Review Audience Member Chico, a sewer worker in Paris rescues Diane from the police. He not only offers his protection, but also his unending love. Diane, who up to that point had been abused by many people, suddenly realizes the love she receives from Chico lifts her from a dreary existence and helps her find her own voice... Chico and the Girl--This movie version provides many simple messages about life in general and also affirms the daily life struggles of the lower classes. Everyone has their own heaven if they look hard for it. Sometimes you have to look deep into your own heart. An uplifting story showing that even the seemingly lowest people on the social scale can be courageous, serve a higher purpose, overcome hardships and past mistakes, and have a happy life shared with a true love... Stars to adorn Seventh Heaven!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member so this is what happen when u just adapt a silence script, straight to a talkie, those words just doesnt sounds right apparently Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member If you look past the fact that Chico (Jimmy Stewart) is supposed to be French, then it is enjoyable. Early role for Jimmy Stewart. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member Unmemorable in every way. Setbound remake of the silent classic is well produced but stilted and awkward. Made very early in Jimmy's career he is totally miscast as a Parisian sewer worker, lush romanticism was never his strong suit, and he sticks out like a sore thumb. This is especially jarring since costar Simone Simon was actually French. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member one of Jimmy Stewarts first movies Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
