The film’s premise had potential, but the execution falls flat due to a weak screenplay and inconsistent pacing. The protagonist, tasked with a tense and elaborate scheme, fails to be compelling or relatable, leaving viewers disengaged. Supporting characters are underdeveloped, and their interactions feel flat, adding little to the story. Brief moments of creativity, like the protagonist’s use of a sewing pattern to restrain a man, offer intrigue but are too fleeting to make a lasting impact. Direction is uninspired, and scenes linger without purpose, causing the film to drag. Even attempts at suspense or tension fail to resonate, making the film feel disjointed. Overall, Sew Torn is a forgettable thriller with a confusing narrative, weak character development, and minimal engagement, leaving it difficult to recommend despite its small flashes of inventive ideas. This was the most unrealistic and pointless films ever made. Absolutely zero substance. You don’t even care about the main character let alone anyone else. Horrendous writing. A laughable plot. An absolutely ridiculous plot. There was not one moment of this film that was in the least bit enjoyable. The entire thing from start to finish is a perfect example of how we praise absolutely horrendous films these days, and boo hoo the good ones. Nothing about this film is good. Absolutely nothing. See more Harland S @Harley1 1d For my taste, it was a sew-sew movie. It had a bad start for me with the use of the theremin in the opening. The theremin has been a sound trope since its invention in the 1920s for horror and sci-fi movies. I know it’s supposed to give a vibe of suspense and unease, but to me, it just sounds cheesy. When it comes to suspense and unease, I prefer films like "Chinatown," "Cape Fear" (1962 and 1991), "The Night Porter," "Psycho," and "The Birds." "Sew Torn" did not do it for me. All the needle and thread work was overdone and thoroughly implausible. I didn't think any of the characters or the dialog were interesting or had any depth. My title for the movie would be "MacGyvering Seamstress." The Swiss scenery is always visually enjoyable in films.The theremin in the closing was appropriate for my sentiments about the movie as described above. The movie was slow and boring.
