Dennis Harvey Variety Rather oddly titled for what's basically a sentimental family pic, "Sex, Death and Bowling" mixes numerous formulaic, overfamiliar elements that never quite gel. Nov 23, 2015 Full Review Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times It's overly busy and seems to mask that there's something lacking. Grenier anchors with a nuanced lead performance, but for such a starry cast, the cinematic quality doesn't match up to the talent on screen. Nov 6, 2015 Full Review Jordan Hoffman Guardian Should be quietly euthanised. Rated: 1/5 Nov 6, 2015 Full Review John Fink The Film Stage Attempting a complex tone combining melodrama and quirk, it's moderately successful on a few fronts. Rated: C Feb 20, 2016 Full Review Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat Spirituality & Practice A richly emotional character-driven drama. Sure there are some minor character flaws but the story/plot moves along nicely and emotionally invests the audience in the transition. Strong cast. Definitely a film worth watching.
