For a film that ostensibly sets out to speak against the ills of dowry, Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana is surprisingly, and dangerously muted. Go to Full Review

Such a terribly confused take... it is difficult to tell which side of the gender and ethical divide the film is really on. Go to Full Review

Rajkummar Rao tries his best to salvage the situation, humanising Satyendar for the most part; but even he cannot pull off the truly farcical parts of this film. Go to Full Review

When SMZA talks about the dowry system the inequality towards women in civil services and general working opportunities, it feels like a mature and relevant story. But the treatment is so lackluster that it relegates the movie to Indian soap opera status Go to Full Review

Priyanka H @PranKz Dec 7 Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana tries to posture as a progressive, feminist story about choice, career, and empowerment, but ultimately caves into the same regressive Bollywood fantasy where marriage is treated as the cure for everything. It pretends to question patriarchy, ego, and control, but ends up protecting all three. The real villains aren’t the couple. The onus lies with the families and the mindset: controlling parents, dowry logic, emotional blackmail, and "log kya kahenge" morality. But none of that is ever held accountable. Manipulation is romanticized, boundaries are disrespected, and a forced "happy ending" is sold as growth. What could’ve been a sharp critique of regressive systems turns into a confused mess that flirts with feminism and then immediately runs back to tradition for validation. Satyendra deserved better. So did Aarti. See more ArihantPuru D Oct 29 In the Beginning, Sathya and Aarti met together in Allahabad and fell in love together. Before getting married, Sathya celebrated Aarti’s birthday in Varanasi at The temple. While the marriage continues, Sathya was having a problem to marry with a bride because the guests were arrived but one boy’s mother getting insulted on his wife after she passed exams in office and ran way from Sathya because of his struggle. Then Aarti lived with guilty while the corruption cases happened because of Sathya investigating her for a fight. Then they started to hate. After 4 years, again they patched up together and went to marriage hall to marry again. At the end, Sathya and Aarti were married back after Aarti shares turban from brother to Sathya. I liked the song Thukra Ke Mera Pyaar and even the climax scene. Rajkummar Rao and Kriti Kharbanda deliver stellar performances, bringing depth to their characters. The plot takes unexpected yet powerful turns, blending romance, drama, and social commentary seamlessly. Adding to its charm, the movie boasts a soulful soundtrack with songs that stay with you long after the credits roll. See more Feb 19 This has to be the most terrible writing in a movie in the history of mankind. Can't believe someone wrote the story and thought it was a good story while more astonishing thing is this piece of terrible writing was approved by someone. The movie starts of as a romantic kind but after that the whole thing that happens in this movie is the harassment and the abuse of the girl because the boy is immature and cant understand the girls perspective. And all of this is portrayed in the movie as a reasonable thing to do. The boy becomes a high level officer solely for the purpose of revenge and it is portrayed as something cool. Man was so resentful that he was misusing his power just to torture the girl. After all this happens, the boy finally does something right to the girl by giving a justified and fair verdict to the authority and all of the characters act like he was Moses parting the red sea. Even the girl forgives everything the boy did to him and loves him. Watching this movie was worse then getting crucified. I was about to vomit my guts out from the discomfort while watching this movie. I have lost a part of my sanity after watching this movie which I didn't fully complete. The writing was so trash that I guessed that they were gonna live happily ever after at the end. I wouldn't even recommend this movie to my greatest adversary.
