Rachel Ho Exclaim! Peterson nudges at some heavy concepts — religion, trauma, abuse, humanity — never quite delivering a full punch, but consistently finding interesting threads to pull within those conversations, benefitting greatly from compelling performances. Rated: 6/10 May 14, 2025 Full Review Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views sign of a good movie: if it had more money, it would be better. “Shadow of God” has a solid, well thought out story that could have benefitted from having a bigger budget. It was a brilliant move to mix the quotidian nightmare of Waco with cosmic horror. Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Bee Delores B-Sides & Badlands Shadow of God is, frankly, an unfortunate blunder that will be forgotten in the blink of an eye Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies Shadow of God should be far more entertaining than it is, which is a slightly nicer way of saying that the movie is a complete dud. Rated: 1/4 Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Nathaniel Muir AIPT Mixing arthouse with psychedelia and just straight up gore, Shadow of God will keep anyone watching off kilter. This is also part of the problem. The film has too much going on. Some of it feels out of place, but it all makes for a fascinating watch. Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Nick Bythrow Screen Rant Despite having an interesting premise and intriguing lead characters, Shadow of God's creative take on exorcism gets lost in the latter half. Eddie O God is all powerful no one can stop him but in this movie he needs a human body lmao uh God could show up anytime he wants and with just a whisper destroy all of creation just a silly movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/19/25 Full Review MAURA S A BRILLIANT MOVIE THAT SHOULD BE WATCHED BY ALL....THOSE WITH NEG COMMENTS ARE SOULESSS N THE WHITE BUFFALLO SEES ALL Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/13/25 Full Review Tam T Although the premises of the movie is intriguing it reveals itself to be an absolute steaming pile of dog diarrhoea. A better hour and a half could be more productively spent cleaning your toilet. The protagonist looked like Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters, his acting wasn't too bad considering how ludicrous the plot was. I didn't feel like dancing either after this. The devil was played by a junkie Post Malone lookalike. Not sure what he could have done with his script and the sheer absurdness of it. Finally, a word has to be said for the special effects. It was like a Doctor Who episode in the early 1970s. Possibly put together on a Spectrum 48k. I've no idea why this wasn't completely binned at the editing stage saving everyone the time and trouble of saying they had anything to do with it! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/08/25 Full Review Jerod S The special effects killed this film. Demons and exorcisms need suspension of belief - but the bad CGI ruined that possibility. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/18/25 Full Review Christian K Shudder Exclusives and Originals need their own exorcism at this point. This is a bland, trauma bloated exorcism story with no discernable character or direction. At the very least, this does not waste its time moving through its scenes. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/17/25 Full Review B P An Unholy and Unexpected Religious Horror. ‘Shadow of God’ is a bit too ambitious for its own good. However, this fresh take on religious horror still warrants a watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/14/25 Full Review Read all reviews
