Tyler Doupe Dread Central ‘Shadow of God’ is a bit too ambitious for its own good. However, this fresh take on religious horror still warrants a watch. Rated: 3/5 Jul 23, 2025 Full Review Ian Bunting Daily Record (UK) Bungling an intriguing main central premise and wasting several actors we’ve seen do much better work, Shadow of God should’ve been doused in holy water before its creative team felt compelled to get their hands on it. Jun 2, 2025 Full Review Rachel Ho Exclaim! Peterson nudges at some heavy concepts — religion, trauma, abuse, humanity — never quite delivering a full punch, but consistently finding interesting threads to pull within those conversations, benefitting greatly from compelling performances. Rated: 6/10 May 14, 2025 Full Review Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views sign of a good movie: if it had more money, it would be better. “Shadow of God” has a solid, well thought out story that could have benefitted from having a bigger budget. It was a brilliant move to mix the quotidian nightmare of Waco with cosmic horror. Apr 14, 2025 Full Review Bee Delores B-Sides & Badlands Shadow of God is, frankly, an unfortunate blunder that will be forgotten in the blink of an eye Rated: 2.5/5 Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies Shadow of God should be far more entertaining than it is, which is a slightly nicer way of saying that the movie is a complete dud. Christian C Thankfully doesn’t back out of its promise. “omg hOW sTuPIT gOD iS aLL pOwERFuL wORsT mOVEE eVERrrr!” Lmfao, oh, stfu… It’s fiction. Just like scripture. Get over it. These clowns *love* the corniest and worst “exorcism” scripts (of which, Hollywood cannot stop cranking out every month) and the moment one with a good premise is released, they start crying and whining about how, in THEIR story, a character is “much more powerful” than in the movie… They’re Superman fans. Whining about comic book hero. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/19/25 Full Review tm11999 M wow, finally an exorcist movie with a different take. really watchable film that doesn't screw up the story. now, is it over?????? Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/01/25 Full Review Troy M Easily the single worst exorcism movie I've seen all year - and I've seen most of them. I literally shut it off half way through. The script is complete nonsense. The main character would never have even been allowed to become a Catholic priest, let alone an exorcist. Seriously who thought this made any sense? Cornball dialogue, terrible CGI, ridiculous plot...I don't think it can get any worse than this. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/20/25 Full Review Eddie O God is all powerful no one can stop him but in this movie he needs a human body lmao uh God could show up anytime he wants and with just a whisper destroy all of creation just a silly movie. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/19/25 Full Review MAURA S A BRILLIANT MOVIE THAT SHOULD BE WATCHED BY ALL....THOSE WITH NEG COMMENTS ARE SOULESSS N THE WHITE BUFFALLO SEES ALL Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/13/25 Full Review Tam T Although the premises of the movie is intriguing it reveals itself to be an absolute steaming pile of dog diarrhoea. A better hour and a half could be more productively spent cleaning your toilet. The protagonist looked like Jake Shears from Scissor Sisters, his acting wasn't too bad considering how ludicrous the plot was. I didn't feel like dancing either after this. The devil was played by a junkie Post Malone lookalike. Not sure what he could have done with his script and the sheer absurdness of it. Finally, a word has to be said for the special effects. It was like a Doctor Who episode in the early 1970s. Possibly put together on a Spectrum 48k. I've no idea why this wasn't completely binned at the editing stage saving everyone the time and trouble of saying they had anything to do with it!
