David B It sucked, plain & simple, dullsville! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/24 Full Review Audience Member One of the funniest movies ive seen: other then the fact that most of this movie is a monkey banging on a door its still fucking hilarious Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member It's impressive and pretty scary just how much they got this monkey to do. It's a bit of a stretch, how much a baboon is able to take out a building full of people, but it still makes for a tense, claustrophobic thrill ride. Think about it, in this kind of situation, I know I'd rather be chased by an axe-wielding maniac, than this manic monkey. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/10/20 Full Review Audience Member Okay, this is a film I'd been trying to track down for some time, and I have to say it was a helluva lot of fun once I got a legitimate copy. A group of kids playing a live action role playing game find themselves trapped in a building with a genetically altered baboon, who is hellbent on getting revenge for what was done to him. It's a good bit of low-budget fun, give it a rental. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member I saw someone else's review, and they called it "Shak-meh".... sums it up nicely. The only good acting came from the baboon. It was mildly entertaining, but I wouldn't watch it again. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member If you watch one killer-baboon-horror-flick, make it "Shakama"! A group of medical students, including Christopher Atkins and Amanda Wyss, are doing some sort of LARPing before it was cool in an office building at night (though they don't dress up like wizards or elves and use walkie talkies), but they unfortunately have their LARP interrupted by an escaped baboon who's been given experimental drugs, which apparently made him go crazy. Their Dungeon Master is Roddy McDowall, who watches the action on on his high tech computer, which seems to feature Commodor 64 quality of graphics. Ari Meyers is also in the film and I knew I recognized her from something, but couldn't quite place her, though thanks to IMDB I figured out she was one of the daughters on "Kate & Allie." The film unfolds like most slasher films, with the unsuspecting you people being killed off one by one, at first not quite sure what's going on, but then later figuring out there's a killer after them, although this time it's not Jason or Michael Meyers. It's a crazed red bottomed baboon! Since a real baboon was used, there is kind of a strange scariness seeing this wild looking baboon tearing down a hallway after it victim or doing absolutely crazy trying to break down some doors (which according to IMDB was achieved by putting a female baboon that was in heat on the other side of the door). Overall I'm not sure this film is really a **1/2 film, but I certainly got **1/2 stars worth of entertainment out of it. And if you dig killer baboon movies, I'll also suggest "In the Shadow of Kilimanjaro," which features a whole troop of killer baboons! Mike Massie Gone With The Twins Virtually none of the scares are scary, and few of the assaults are thrilling; as these sorts of Z-grade frighteners go, more laughs are found than chills. Rated: 2/10 Sep 22, 2022 Full Review Jason Shawhan Nashville Scene If you enjoy films in which teen ignorance and arrogance collide with furry rage, this 1990 film is the one for you. Sep 10, 2021 Full Review TV Guide A low-budget thriller with a made-for-television look that's developed a surprising cult following. Rated: 1.5/4 Aug 24, 2012 Full Review Read all reviews
