Trina B IN A NUTSHELL: The story is about a man who returns to his hometown where his younger brother was killed by a shark 20 years ago. Now, the shark returns and the angry man has to team up with the uncle who didn’t protect them on the beach that day long ago. The film was directed by James Gadd. Writing credits go to Ryan Ebert. THINGS I LIKED: You probably won’t recognize anyone in the cast except for David Chokachi. He won a Best Actor award in 2020 by the International Christian Film Festival. I hadn’t seen Alan Rogers in anything before. He has a Glen Powell vibe to him. The weird thing is that it looked like he had sunburned eyes the entire time. I hadn’t seen Angela Cole before either, and I liked her in this. There’s a jump-scare that got me. I didn’t see that one coming. People who watch shark movies want lots of action and attacks, so they won’t be disappointed with this one. There’s a little romance amidst the drama. The movie takes place at beautiful Lake Havasu. THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE: Why are most shark movies so bad??? A lot of the acting is very wooden. The dialogue is awkward. Because it’s a shark movie, it’s extremely predictable and filled with all of the shark-movie cliches you’ve seen before. It’s so annoying how characters always make dumb choices. Many of the close-ups of sharks look pretty lame. I hate shaky cam. There is so much shaky cam in this. Why is it government officials never listen when people tell them there has been a shark sighting? The booze-drinking, cliched villain is ridiculous. TIPS FOR PARENTS: We see bloody deaths We see waitresses at a restaurant wearing skimpy clothes. We also see a lot of girls wearing bikinis. Firearms, knives, and spears are used to try to kill the shark Alcohol and bar scenes To see my full review, go to my Movie Review Mom YouTube channel!
