Coleman Spilde Salon.com As much as “Shark Whisperer” tries to explore the warring perspectives between Ramsey and her naysayers, the documentary quickly becomes mired by Ramsey’s inability to see anyone’s side but her own. Jul 3, 2025 Full Review Barbara Shulgasser Common Sense Media Shark Whisperer is a stunning film, with memorable images of huge predatory creatures allowing Ramsey to hang off their fins and pet them, without ever seeming aggressive or threatening. Jul 18, 2025 Full Review Clara Carrabba Decider The film certainly has a slow start, but my interest certainly piqued once they started trying to dive with great whites. They pulled me in with the fantastical aspect, then kept me in it following their laborious effort to pass House Bill 553 into law. Jul 11, 2025 Full Review Hannah Brown Jerusalem Post Features amazing underwater photography and gets across its message that shark attacks are rare and that sharks are a key part of marine life. Jul 7, 2025 Full Review Jim Vorel Paste Magazine Shark Whisperer hints at how a woman’s passion for shark conservation has undermined her own personal life, and how she ultimately has chosen to sacrifice her own safety and embrace constant, inadvisable threats in the name of her idealistic cause. Rated: 6.4/10 Jul 2, 2025 Full Review Romey Norton Film Focus Online If you’re searching for an uplifting documentary film with emotional weight and gorgeous visuals, Shark Whisperer is well worth watching. The documentary delivers a gentle but powerful message about connection, trust, and looking beyond first impressions. Rated: 3/5 Jul 1, 2025 Full Review Read all reviews

Torin F SHARK WHISPERER is a captivating documentary—taken on its own merits, it will change how you think about sharks, and challenge how you think about conservation. It may also mislead some people and lead to some issues, but the very real existing global problems are clearly portrayed. Wisely, the docu embraces the controversy caused by Ocean and Juan's unique approach, offering an insightful study into the power and perils of influencer culture that significantly enriches and in many ways becomes an equal subject of the film. All this makes for a beautiful, intelligent, and compelling must-watch docu. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/30/25 Full Review Brian D 68%. 7/27/25. Not super exciting. It is fascinating to see her build bonds and interact with the sharks. One shark in particular seems to know her and her photographer. No need to rewatch. 1/5 rewatch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/29/25 Full Review Kevin P Very interesting.........alot of respect for these two......glad I watched Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/25 Full Review Josh P Are we learning about sharks or about Ocean Ramsey? Any time ocean is on the screen she sucks the spotlight to herself. Most things they “teach” us about sharks has been taught for years or decades on shark week. Stunning visuals but the entitlement and justifications in the name of conservation distract anyone who know anything about Sharks. All the scientific info is given by others other than Ramsey. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/25/25 Full Review Stephanie M I found it an interesting film. I was a little conflicted in the fact that she made swimming with sharks look seamless and easy. She obviously has an attunement with sharks and trying to pass bills to ban shark fishing is a good end to this show. I guess my only concern was sharks aren’t all gentle like she made it appear. I did have an encounter with a bull shark on a boat many time years and years ago and they are she was a predator so I hope there are no copycats and proceed with caution. Yes, I believe sharks need to be protected. I have a healthy respect for sharks, but no I do not want to be friends with them. I say leave them alone. Attack you happen they take a bite, but fatalities are rare. We are swimming in their backyard. Kind of like I have this about Lions and would love to go on a Safari one day and see them, but would I go up and hang out with them probably not Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 07/13/25 Full Review Michael W This shark documentary was really good. The entire crew did a spectacular job on what Ocean Ramsey and Juan Oliphant did to help save sharks and show that they're not as dangerous as most people say they are. It was a very insightful look into how sharks and people can co-exist. If you haven't seen this documentary yet, check it out sometime. It's a definite must see.
