Michael O'Sullivan Washington Post It's bloody good fun. Nov 21, 2013 Full Review Mary McNamara Los Angeles Times Oh sure, it's easy to pick holes in a story about a weather system that makes it possible for sharks to fly and take to the streets, but that's the whole point of movies like this: fabulous in-home commentary. Jul 26, 2013 Full Review Kaleem Aftab Independent (UK) What the film does have is some fantastically cheesy lines combined with some humorous social commentary. Jul 26, 2013 Full Review Danielle Solzman Solzy at the Movies Sharknado is the little Asylum B-movie that could and it's absolutely glorious! Rated: 4.5/5 Mar 5, 2024 Full Review Kevin Carr Fat Guys at the Movies Obviously ridiculous and stupid, it still manages to sometimes be a mind-blowing rollickingly good time. Rated: 2.5/4 Feb 21, 2024 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies “Sharknado” is the epitome of “so bad it’s good”. Maybe not good enough to watch again and again, but plenty good enough to do what it sets out to do – entertain in its own offbeat cockamamie way. Ben W Cheesy and corny fun! Had a blast revisiting this. Really fun and hilarious! 😂 Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/16/23 Full Review James H An absolute whale of a time. Full of comedy, and so bad it's good! Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/03/24 Full Review James W This movie was definitely a movie. I hate when sharks fly in tornados, it happens so often, so this documentary really emotionally impacted and changed my life Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/25/24 Full Review Thomas J The worst movie ever made If you want to watch sharknado, all you have to do is flush your toilet. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/02/24 Full Review noah p Sharknado shanged my life I cannot stress enough that Sharknado is the most profound cinematic experience of my life. Beneath the "ridiculous" concept of sharks in tornadoes lies a stunning commentary on the human condition and society's perilous trajectory. People laugh and call it "cheesy," but those critics are blind to the bold truths it reveals. Watching a tornado filled with sharks ravage a city isn't just entertaining-it's a dire warning. Fin Shepard isn't merely a character-he's a tragic hero, a modern-day Odysseus, caught in a battle against nature's fury and humankind's arrogance. He knows he can't control the forces around him, yet he charges forward, chainsaw in hand, into the belly of the beast, with all the defiance of a modern Prometheus. When he dives into that shark with his chainsaw, it's not just survival-it's a bold reclaiming of humanity's agency. The special effects? Remarkably misunderstood. Every rough CGI shark is a raw, jagged reminder of our fragile mortality. The so-called "low budget" aesthetic isn't a flaw; it's a statement. We are living in a world where things can fall apart at any moment. And the blood, guts, and absolute absurdity are reflections of our chaotic, broken society. In short, Sharknado is not just a film. It's a revelation, a piece of celluloid prophecy. If you don't feel that, watch it again. And again. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/31/24 Full Review Jay A So damn dumb and horrible acting, horrible idea, horrible efx. What a disaster, not literally.
