All of this is made more awkward still by the same problem we had in the first Shazam movie—namely that Zachary Levi (as the titular hero) and Asher Angel seem to be playing two completely different versions of Billy Batson.

If you love Zachary Levi and the first "Shazam," you will have a good time here, as it does ratchet up the thrills and fun. If you've never seen the first, you won't miss anything.

Too little, too late to keep this franchise going. It sucks that this is only a mediocre sequel. They really went wrong by adding all the extra Shazam heroes -- we needed more of Billy and Freddy and less of everybody else.
