Audience Member This is a modern love story with a dark streak at its heart. It's not flashy, nor is it portentous. It's a well-directed, well-written, authentically French (both in language and portrayal of poorer districts) tale of ordinary love in amongst extraordinary, testing, unconventional surroundings, relationships, xenophobia and social status. Helen Verongos' review in the New York Times is worth a read, if you feel mine resonates at all with your thinking on the film.
