Shelter in Solitude is a little uneven when it awkwardly tries to balance comedy with the drama of the main story. Good acting saves what could have been a very trite movie about an unlikely friendship between a death row prisoner and a prison guard.

A warm, tender and genuinely heartfelt story about friendship, compassion and empathy. Siobhan Fallon Hogan gives a raw, convincingly moving performance while finding the emotional truth of her role and exuding palpable charisma.

I really enjoyed this one. It's not a big budget movie but the acting is great and there's a few moments that pull on your heartstrings. Solid 4 out of 5 stars.

I loved the script and the acting was excellent. A comically flawed tavern owner, shut down by COVID lockdowns gets a job as a death row prison guard. A humorous but poignant lesson in the power of compassion to share and ultimately lessen the burden of suffering. See this film. You'll want to tell others about it.
