Ted B. @Movieaddicted Nov 5 4.0 stars; Basil Rathbone is Sherlock Holmes. No one else seems to fulfill the perception, both physically and personally, as well as he does. If you read any of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books, you visualize Rathbone as Sherlock. This is a great movie series, with Nigel Bruce as a perfect Dr. Watson sidekick to Rathbone. The chemistry between them makes this series. This episode is one of my favorites because it is pure mystery on a train. As opposed to some of the other episodes, which were more World War II driven. See more jason c 08/20/2024 I must admit to my bias, even though I have watched just about everything Holmes out there, I love Basil Rathbone. I know this series is not canon, but I just marvel at his portrayal. Add the fact that I spent 6 years in Europe and travelled the train system extensively, and there you have have it. My unbiased opinion would be 3 star for this movie out of Rathbone/Bruce movies. See more nick s 11/08/2023 A fun ride with two colourful protagonists. The only negatives were the convoluted setup and plot conveniences. They made the story feel very improbable. Still, if you're a Rathbone and Bruce fan like me you'll enjoy it.
