Critics Consensus

A relationship comedy that errs on the side of slick, She's The One is a perfunctory study of machismo from a very male perspective.

Caroline Westbrook Empire Magazine A pleasant package then, easy on the eye, and gently charming but, like The Brothers McMullen, one which places Burns as a comfortable rather than cutting-edge moviemaker. Rated: 3/5 Apr 8, 2014 Full Review Lisa Schwarzbaum Entertainment Weekly Rated: C- Sep 7, 2011 Full Review Leonard Klady Variety Burns manages to take on a laundry list of touchy issues in a relatively frank, unflinching manner. His characters retain their dignity and integrity without false dramatic redemption. It's a true adult saga. Audience Member Truly the most stunning cast of any film I've seen. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/30/24 Full Review Steve D I don't really like the story but it is well written. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Martijn S no bra's, i rest my case, ok more seriously, it's not that bad, if there is nothing else, go for it Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/22 Full Review Audience Member This is one romcom I come back to every now and then. It seems like a fluffy romance but it touches some serious stuff in a delicate, sweet way considering it's 30 years old. There's even the lesbian relationship, trace of incest, religion, prostitution. I really like Burns, I like his acting and enjoy him as a director. I think everyone was perfect for their parts except for the fabulous Aniston, who is much better than that poor empty whining part they gave her. Her peppy brilliance was wasted. She should have inverted the wives parts (Aniston as Hope). Loved the father and sons relationships. Yes, I will come back to it again and again. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie has a young Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston in it, and it's still unwatchable. A disjointed story with unlikable and unlikely characters. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A confusing drama surrounding failed relationships which gets a tad onerous trying to keep up at one stage. A few laughs here and there make it watchable. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/28/20 Full Review Read all reviews
