Ross W When a Korean flight KL007 is shot down over Russian airspace in 1983, one passenger's mother (Dame Angela Lansbury) stops at nothing to get to the truth. A very entertaining look in to the tragic true events in 1983 when an airline had mysteriously strayed into Russian airspace and had been destroyed by a missile fired by an interceptor jet. This film sensibly and sensitively follows the plight of Nan Moore, a US government worker who can not accept the official line her country has stated upon the death of her son John. The film mixes both staged and actual footage shot at events that are covered giving it a sense of realism and authenticity. The acting is also above the standard fair and all looked to be taking the project seriously. Even the theories, conspiratorial and otherwise are filmed with a serious tone, stating the evidence that they are based upon. But it is Dame Lansbury that holds the viewer's attention drawing you in so that you understand what it is to loose a child in such a horrendous and sudden way. Enjoyable, and informative, and worth a watch.
