Before anyone had heard of COVID-19, filmmaker Scott Hamilton Kennedy (THE GARDEN, FOOD EVOLUTION) began investigating the global measles epidemic. Filming with top public health officials--including Tony Fauci--as well as rare interviews with anti-vaccine activists who were persuading parents by the millions to refuse vaccines for their children. Then COVID-19 happened. Acting quickly, Kennedy shifted his directorial eye to this once-in-a-century tragedy. Both skeptical and hopeful, SHOT IN THE ARM explores vaccine hesitancy historically and in the context of our modern pandemic. Can we replace cynicism with healthy curiosity and bridge the political divides that make us sick?

Jonita Davis The Black Cape (Medium) Shot in the Arm is ultimately an indictment of the anti-vax movement as a massive fearmongering machine used by the “loud and wrong” to create a billion-dollar industry. It has also killed millions while threatening the health of the entire world. Moody C It's a well made doc but nothing any rational person didn't know alredy. It's frustrating to watch dumb people behave irrationally. Those who may laugh at them are missing the point because we are stuck on this planet with them. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/08/23 Full Review Eddie B Saw a powerful doc tonight: "A Shot in the Arm." Exec produced by Neil deGrasse Tyson, showing the world how imperative it is to understand and trust science. It also shows how irresponsible these anti-vax leaders are.
