Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter This would-be satire isn't funny enough to be entertaining, nor is it clever enough to fool us. May 5, 2004 Full Review Kevin Thomas Los Angeles Times Slyly amusing yet poignant. Rated: 3.5/5 Apr 22, 2004 Full Review Charles Ealy Dallas Morning News Showboy is enjoyable if you're comfortable with the mix of fact and fiction and don't care what's true and what's not. Rated: B- Apr 15, 2004 Full Review Film Threat Rated: 4/5 Dec 6, 2005 Full Review Jay Antani Los Angeles Alternative a legitimately smart and appealing work Rated: 3.5/5 Sep 30, 2004 Full Review David Foucher EDGE Boston The most entertaining part of Christian Taylor's "Showboy" is deciphering fact from fiction... and that's not a compliment. Audience Member Witty, touching, uncomfortable at times, and always funny. This is a clever and unique story about a person too proud to admit failure and the struggles we all face when life hands us lemons. A great independent film. Certainly worth seeing. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Best mockumentary since 'Waiting For Guffman' ! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member Duh! Actually, do those who are living outside the Hollywood/ Vegas circle really care? I don't. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member A quasi-clever hide-and-seek game of reality versus fiction that ultimately reveals itself as not the movie you thought it was going to be when the final credits roll. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Half a star, because you can't give less it seems. It says a lot that the main humour of the movie was a semi-blind dog crapping on the protagonist's pillow. This was genuinely supposed to be a documentary? Give me a break! Film school end of 1st year project at best. What a waste of time. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member its a clever mockumentary!!!
