Robert Abele Los Angeles Times If "The Room" impresario Tommy Wiseau had been given the opportunity to make an action film, the result would still have been more entertaining than the egregiously nonsensical and amateurish "Showdown in Manila." Jan 18, 2018 Full Review Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter A mishmash of action movie and buddy cop clichs rendered in incompetent fashion, this wink-wink homage to 1991's Showdown in Little Tokyo makes its inspiration seem like a classic. Jan 17, 2018 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety Pedestrian (at best) in content and execution, including listless, sometimes inept staging of key action elements. Jan 15, 2018 Full Review Leigh Monson Substream Magazine [It] isn't entirely devoid of fun action or interesting ideas, but the execution is so scattershot that there's no way to recommend the movie. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 8, 2020 Full Review Ed Travis Cinapse It's certainly wonderful to see these stars show up and be treated with reverence, but the best way to honor them would have been to design a real killer set piece that gave each of them a chance to highlight their skills. Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com For those who can endure the feature's considerable shortcomings and tone-deaf creative choices, this might be the next "The Room" for action cinema fans. Audience Member while you review this divine creation Nikolashka and USD 3.5 million, dy laugh and think that everything is viewed - a joke ... and then it becomes clear to you ... and yet they are not kidding ... just a movie divine !!! Cinematography - on top! if you are using Oculus Rift for viewing, because the camera is so beautiful reeling almost all the time! And what is the game of actors (except Casper Van Dean) - they just give you a figure that has not got the script! .... Please forgive me, but you will continue to own and manage ... just look at this masterpiece (if you dare xD) Good luck! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
