Employing every known genre cliché while inventing some new ones, the blunt and to-the-point titled “Shrapnel” makes numerous unforced errors right out of the gate. Go to Full Review

With a complete lack of interest in suspense or character, this dull action thriller consists almost entirely of shoot-outs between grim-faced heroes and utterly generic villains. Go to Full Review

Brutally violent confrontations add some visceral intensity to this vigilante thriller, which otherwise is overwhelmed by narrative cliches. Go to Full Review

Buoyed by Patric, who pushes to bring passably authentic emotions to an otherwise generic siege tale, giving as good a performance as one can possibly expect from a B-movie with limited storytelling goals. Go to Full Review

Jo and Co 02/13/2024 Jo and I liked very little. The plot of a father who is an ex Command and the like and has a kidnapped daughter, and goes in search of her has been covered so many times it becomes very boring. This movie has absolutely nothing new. The location is on the border of Mexico and USA. All the Mexican cops are corrupt. There is virtually non stop violence after about twenty mins of the movie. We have our hero, his wife and his daughter (he has two - one is kidnapped along with her friend and being sold for sex) fighting of around ten Mexicans who have machine guns, grenades , ammunition, ey al, being besieged with only a USA cop in a car who does nothing because nothing works except a small hand gun. He disappears quickly whist our hero fights off all these villains, one even wears a hideous mask. With his hysterical wife and daughter he manages to kill most of these ferocious villains and escapes without a scratch with them. He meets up with his friend, the father of the other girl and they go to the super home of the head criminal with his army of thugs. Our now two heroes kills all these thugs and beats the hell out of the boss who reveals where the two young girls are. They rescue them amongst more mayhem, still without a scratch or hair out of place and thankfully the movie ends. The extra star we gave was because it had. happy ending and the movie ended, too. See more Jeremy B @Jball 6h Imma be honest, it wasnt that good at all... you can see the stunt truck in the chase scenes... The shoot outs are far fetched, the "cartel" gives each other up without any struggle. The acting is like watching a still play. Honestly ive seen nerf wars play out better. See more Richard B @Komard 16h Shrapnel is a familiar revenge thriller that keeps moving and ultimately lands a competent climax, but it repeatedly chooses convenience over credibility. While the film holds attention and delivers a solid final act, with an ironic, symbolically satisfying conclusion; it takes too many narrative shortcuts to feel fully earned. Key character decisions strain logic, particularly regarding cartel behavior, intelligence sharing, and consequences. The film establishes realism early, then selectively abandons it when escalation is required. Tactical inconsistencies and simplified power structures undercut what should be grounded tension. This feels less like a failure of concept and more like a failure of ambition. Saban Films appears content delivering a serviceable genre entry without expanding the narrative or fully committing to the implications of its own setup. The result is a movie that works moment to moment but leaves depth on the table. See more Chris S @Medicnco17 3d It was a good film with a straightforward plot and quality execution. Not a bad shoot 'em up movie for a dull day on the couch. See more Frank N @Badami 6d Terrific action, great acting, good guys and bad guys. See more holy i @Highsuccessdrive Dec 24 Actually pretty good. Lead role was on his law abiding citizen feel. Couple brain fart moments like why not the cartel throw the grenade way earlier in the house , the daughters face just irritates me the whole movie, and how the sheriff crawl out the car while it’s simultaneously getting sprayed with bullets he hops up and shoots like 10+ shots from a shotgun that didn’t seem right .
