relies on gross humor and slapstick to make the film fun, and with all the characters in the forest... this worked out well. Go to Full Review

Rather than enhancing the franchise, Shrek the Halls is a dispiriting holiday cash cow. Go to Full Review

Max H @max_hale Dec 23 I have no idea how, nearly 20 years after its release, this short film managed to reach second place in the "Top 10 Movies" category on HBO Max, but it certainly sparked my curiosity, so I decided to watch it. The film presents Shrek’s first Christmas and the holiday traditions of his friends. To be honest I don't understand why this special is rated so low. The animation is exactly what one would expect from a full-length Shrek film, the jokes land well, and it transports the viewer back into the familiar Shrek universe. I would not say that I would watch it every year, but that is mainly because I am not a big fan of the Shrek films. Naturally, like all other Shrek films, its primary target audience is children, but it can also provide light entertainment for adults. Overall, I believe Shrek the Halls is a particularly good Christmas special. See more Horror fan 4 Dec 19 Ogre!!! Love the shrek franchise and this is a yearly watch in my house. See more Jonathan Q 12/12/2023 A new Christmas Classic Special!!! See more Read all reviews
