Though the movie, in it self is entertaining, and there is a large amount of action, it is hard to get past the acting.
The male lead is surprisingly enough, the "good" actor, though he has the same spectrum of facial expressions as Kevin Kostner, i.e. 1.
The female lead is almost painful to watch, and the supporting cast looks like they've been picked up from a local theatre.
The following part contains a few spoilers, beware!
The storyline looks like it was borrowed from one of the Resident evil-movies, there is a plane, a safe haven on some boats, etc.
All of a sudden, there is a mad scientist, that can tame the zombies, and leads them on a revenge raid onto the boat, and I guess, at some point, he even taught some of them to swim...
The main zombie is quite an accomplished hand-to-hand fighter, he throws punches like a pro, and also jabs incoming punches...
The zombies can track the survivors, even if they are either in a car, or flying through the air, there is no explanation how they do that, they just seem to have supernatural tracking abilities, oh, and even though the plane that the survivors are on have gained quite some distance, before it crashes (don't worry, everyone survives, a few cuts and bruises, though the plane plows through a bunch of trees), the zombies catch up to them very quickly, they Usain Bolt it straight to where they are...
So... if you are willing to see past all this, and the bad acting, it's worth a watch.

Great little zombie flick. Just the right amount of gore, action, and plot to keep you entertained. If you like this genre it's recommended.

Silent Zone is a gripping and emotional survival horror film that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It takes the post-apocalyptic genre and adds real heart, stunning visuals, and plenty of tension to make for an unforgettable experience.
The story follows Abigail, who loses her family in a brutal outbreak that turns people into savage "ferals." She’s taken in by Cassius, a tough but caring cop, and together they survive in this harsh new world for over a decade. When they cross paths with a desperate couple, Megan and David, their fragile existence is thrown into chaos, forcing them to confront tough choices about trust, survival, and morality.
Visually, the movie is stunning—the abandoned cities and overgrown landscapes really sell the eerie, post-pandemic world. The soundtrack is subtle but adds to the tension in all the right moments.
The performances are fantastic, especially Abigail, who perfectly balances strength and vulnerability. Cassius is the classic hardened survivor with a softer side, and the supporting cast adds extra depth to the story. Everyone feels real, making it easy to connect with their struggles.
Beyond the action and suspense, Silent Zone also makes you think—about survival, human nature, and what it really means to stay human when everything falls apart. While there are a few slower moments, the film is gripping from start to finish.
If you’re a fan of The Road or 28 Days Later, you’ll love Silent Zone. It’s intense, emotional, and beautifully made—definitely one of the best survival horror films of the year. Don’t miss it!

Well done for what it is - gritty, emotional, but a bit familiar
Let me start by saying-I don't compare indie films to big-budget Hollywood productions, and I'm not expecting the kind of visual effects or scale that come with tens of millions of dollars. I also don't hold a film accountable for the resources it didn't have. But what I do expect-no matter the budget-is for the film to be good on its own terms. And Silent Zone mostly delivers on that.
This was better than I expected for an indie zombie movie. Silent Zone has some really strong moments, especially when it focuses on the relationship between Cassius and Abigail. Matt Devere is great as the lead-tough but grounded-and Luca Papp holds her own too. Their scenes together give the film a surprising amount of heart.
The atmosphere is solid all around. The wilderness setting and bleak tone work well, and the infected are creepy without being over-the-top. It's more of a slow-burn survival story than a non-stop action movie, but there are a few intense scenes that stood out. Also appreciated the twist that the ferals aren't totally brain-dead-it added a bit of tension.
That said, the story hits a lot of familiar notes. If you've seen your fair share of apocalyptic survival films, you'll probably guess where things are going. There are also a couple of abrupt cuts that took me out of the moment, and the pacing dips a little in the middle.
Still, you can tell this was made with care. It doesn't reinvent the genre, but it's gritty, well-acted, and emotionally grounded. For a low-budget horror film, it punches above its weight. Worth checking out if you're into survival horror with some heart.
Special mention to Matt Devere-he brings real weight to the lead role and I'd honestly love to see him in more films. Also, director Peter Deak shows a lot of promise here.

"Silent Zone" isn't groundbreaking, but it delivers solid entertainment. I enjoyed the chemistry between the main characters, and the eerie atmosphere worked well. Still, the story was quite predictable and lacked originality in places.
Overall, it's a decent watch if you like post-apocalyptic thrillers.
