Sing Street, while not telling a tale that could be labeled as anything close to original, still crackles with an innovative vitality all its own, making its climactic leaps into the starry-eyed unknown all the more wonderful because of this. Go to Full Review

“Drive It Like You Stole It” should win the Oscar for Best Original song. It’s such a catchy tune that also plays well into the film thematically. Not to mention, the scene it is used in is arguably the best individual scene of 2016. Go to Full Review

Curtis B May 28 Love it! Watched it again on 10th anniversary in theater. See more rich k Mar 15 Fun , 80s nostalgia, for anyone who played an instrument in school or didn't, but liked 80s music. A film with a nice plot and a very uplifting finale which is rare in most films today. See more Mark A @RT25688434 7h I would give this film 10 stars if I could. I saw it in theaters in 2016 when it came out. I knew nothing of the movie and it was a whim theater visit with my wife where we just picked a film showing at the local cineplex. From the first moments this film caught me up in the characters who I really cared about which to me is the crux of what makes a film great. You need to give the audience a reason to care about the characters and Carney hit this one out of the park. The soundtrack is Oscar worth both with original music and known tracks. 100% banging soundtrack! The film was cast to perfection with special shout out to Ian Kenny who played the school bully "Barry". He made me believe he was actually that person in real life and THAT is acting my friends. Well done Ian 👏🏻. Conor's family history and dysfunction was built with care and thought into the film which brought the viewer in deep with all of them. Conor's older brother played by Jack Reynor was splendid. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! See more Scott R @ScottR Jun 7 My friend Liz shared this with me and it was a good movie, full of witt, love, and music, all with an Irish setting. Excellent soundtrack. The love interest particularly resonated with me with their struggles and reality setting in. Saw on box. See more Blondie B @RT40188951 May 13 Honestly not a good movie. Slow, the songs are terrible and honestly the end of the movie was quite boring, storyline was lacking. Would not recommend. See more Janine M @RT69928826 May 2 Loved it!!!! Fun, inspiring with great music. Another brilliant movie by John Carney (Once, Begin Again). Great casting particularly the elder brother. I watched it with my teenage daughter and she loved it too. I know we will watch it again until then, we are hooked on the soundtrack. Highly recommend Sing Street. See more Read all reviews
